The countdown begins! This Saturday we will go out in our first Twenty One Cycling group start, led by former professional cyclist Sammy Munday.
This undulating route starts in Girona and makes a loop to the north, passing through Flaçà and Banyoles. It is designed for everyone, we will go through soft hills, quiet rural roads and beautiful landscapes. This is our favorite way to start the weekend.
From Girona we will leave north in the direction of the city of Celrà, before turning left and venturing along the quiet and narrow roads that wind between beautiful villages and towns. Next, we will pass through the picturesque towns of l'Emporda-Bordils and Flaçà before heading west, where we will begin to gain some height, nothing too demanding: a moderate slope of up to 10% but only for 100-200 meters.
Then we will continue west, towards Banyoles, rolling among beautiful, green open valleys, some of our favorites around this area. Upon reaching Banyoles, we will go around its impressive lake and enjoy the wonderful views, where we can also stop for a coffee halfway if we feel like it.
From Banyoles we will go to Camós through the soft hills, taking advantage of the descents to gain momentum for the next climb. The route descends to Palio de Revardit before taking a right turn to climb the short but somewhat difficult climb of La Mota. It has a length of about 4 km and an average slope of 5% with a maximum of about 8%.
From here, the descent will take us along some narrow roads towards Canet d'Adri, overlooking our Girona. Next, we will descend again to the city of Sant Gregori and we will travel the last 7 km flat back to Girona, ending the route with a well-deserved coffee and a cake in one of the cycling cafes of the city.
We wait for you at Calle Força number 4 on Saturday, March 19 in the morning, at 9.30 am.
Come on there!
